JUNE 15, 2025 MONTANA: FIRST MONTANA STORM CHASE!
Tornado warned storm looking north from near Sumatra, Montana. Big time stout lowering in there and very well could have been a tornado. I would have driven north on this dirt road but it was a marked private and no trespassing ranch road :-(
Nicely structured supercell with cow catcher shelf cloud on the leading edge. Inflow bands feeding southwest to northeast into the storm.
Wall cloud reforming on the leading edge of the storm as we watched from well to the south. Really wish we had a public road to get north and take a look at what is in there!
We tried going north out of Vananda, Montana but had cows galore blocking the road. Decided to turn around and head back east on our main road. Family with me really enjoyed this moment ha ha.
